ExxonMobil Clinton Facility!

Yesterday the campers took a trip to the ExxonMobil facility in Clinton, NJ.  After a long bus ride the students learned what kid of research and work ExxonMobil takes part in.

Cameras were not allowed in the lab, so there are no pictures, but we are sure the kids will have a lot to talk about when they see you tomorrow!

Media Day follow up!

Last week we had Media Day, and this week an article was written about the camp.

The link to the article is below, check it out!

INTREPID

On Friday the campers took a trip to Manhattan to visit the retired USS Intrepid.

We spent all morning exploring the massive ship and learning about its time in active duty.

The students learned a lot, and got to see enormous planes up close!

The students even got to see the inside of a submarine

The Intrepid even had a movie theatre!

After the trip it was goodbye for the weekend and see you on Sunday!
MEDIA DAY

On Thursday the students met representatives from ExxonMobil and designed a lander to protect an astronaut.

The students worked diligently to prototype their design in only 30 minutes!

The students memorized and recited the pledge for myself for the representatives

Media day was great for everyone!

The students even got to meet Dr. Bernard Harris, the first African-American to do a spacewalk!

The students wrapped up the day by building and testing small rockets made of straw

Dinner with an engineer!

After a long day of work in the classroom, the campers sat down to dinner with some of the university's engineering students.

They spoke to the campers about college, engineering degrees, and life after High School

A big thanks to all of the students that serve as fantastic role models for our campers!
